Roasted Sausages, Apples, and Cabbage


  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
  • 4 wedges (each 1-inch thick) red onion
  • 2 wedges (each 1-inch thick) red cabbage
  • 2 peeled cored quartered small Pink Lady or Granny Smith apples
  • 1-1/2 tsp. balsamic vinegar, divided
  • 1 lb. smoked sausages, diagonally cut into 1-inch thick pieces


  • 1. Preheat standard oven to 450°F. Combine oil, thyme and caraway seeds in small bowl. Place onion, cabbage and apples on full sheet pan. Drizzle with oil mixture and 3/4 tsp. of the balsamic vinegar. Bake 10 minutes.
  • 2. Add sausage to sheet pan. Bake 12 to 15 minutes more or until sausage is brown and cabbage is crisp-tender, turning once.
  • 3. Divide mixture evenly among 4 plates. Drizzle with remaining vinegar and serve.
