Ham & Balsamic Onion Sandwich with Chipotle Pepper Sauce
Ingredients
1 tsp. vegetable oil
3 oz. thinly sliced red onion
2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
1 sourdough roll, horizontally cut in half, toasted
1 oz. shredded romaine lettuce
1 oz. sliced tomato
4 oz. sliced ham
2 slices (1/2 oz. each) Swiss cheese
2 oz. ketchup
1 tsp. dried chipotle peppers
Directions
1. Sauté onion in oil in small skillet on medium-high heat until translucent. Stir in balsamic vinegar. Simmer until almost all the vinegar is evaporated. Remove from heat.
2. Place lettuce and tomato on bottom half of roll. Top with ham, cheese and onion.
4. Cover with top of roll. Serve with combined ketchup and chipotle pepper mixture.
