Stewed Green Beans with Bacon


  • 6 slices bacon, sliced crosswise in half
  • 2-1/2 lb. green beans, stems removed, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 can (14-1/2 oz.) reduced sodium chicken broth
  • 2 cups water


  • 1. Cook bacon in large saucepan on medium heat until brown. Do not drain.
  • 2. Add green beans, broth and water. Bring to a boil; reduce to low. Simmer, covered, 1 hour or until green beans are very tender.
